CAPTURING THE ESSENCE OF YOU - PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHer LEE SEARLE

Portrait photography, how it works

Getting your portrait taken with me is more than a photoshoot — it’s a relaxed, crafty, slightly quirky experience designed to capture the real you. Whether you’re after a bold headshot, a warm family portrait, or something a bit more creative, I aim for portraits that feel honest, flattering and a little unexpected.

What to expect on the day

  • Warm welcome: We start with a friendly chat. Tell me about the looks you love, the bits of you you want to show off, and anything you’d rather not. No awkward silence — just a cuppa and a plan.

  • Comfortable pace: I’ll guide you through poses that work, using simple directions and playful prompts so smiles and expressions feel natural, not forced. Expect gentle direction, not stiff posing.

  • Light, location and mood: Whether we’re in-studio, at a favourite outdoor spot in Cornwall, or in your home, I’ll shape the light and background to suit your personality and wardrobe. I love natural light, textured walls, coastline backdrops and quirky corners — anything that adds character.

  • Connection matters: The best portraits come when you relax and connect — with me, with the camera, or with someone you love beside you. I create a friendly, low-pressure atmosphere so those genuine moments come through.

  • Quick previews: During the session I’ll show a couple of frames so you can see what’s working and tweak things as we go. This keeps the shoot collaborative and fun.

  • Timeframe: Allow 30–90 minutes depending on the shoot. We’ll build in time for outfit changes and wandering to different spots if needed.

What I’ll deliver

  • Carefully edited images that keep the soul of the moment — subtle retouching, colour grading and cropping for the strongest results.

  • A selection of high-resolution digital files, ready for print and online use.

  • Optional prints and bespoke products if you want physical copies that feel special.

Booking process — simple, friendly and straightforward

  1. Reach out: Send a quick message with what you’d like (portraits, location, preferred dates). Tell me a little about the vibe you want — classic, editorial, natural, playful — whatever suits you.

  2. Chat & plan: I’ll reply with availability and we’ll arrange a short phone or video call to discuss style, outfits, exact locations and any special requests. This is the time to ask questions and get excited.

  3. Secure your date: Once you’re happy, a small deposit secures the booking. I’ll send a confirmation with the shoot time, meeting point, and a handy checklist on what to bring.

  4. The shoot: We meet, we shoot, we smile. I’ll keep things relaxed and efficient so you enjoy the experience from start to finish.

  5. Image delivery: I’ll send an online gallery of edited images within the agreed timeframe. Pick your favourites and I’ll deliver full-resolution files and any print orders.

Tips to get the best from your portrait

  • Wear what makes you feel confident — textured layers, colours that flatter your skin tone, and minimal loud logos.

  • Bring a spare outfit or two for variety.

  • Rest well the night before and stay hydrated; small details make a big difference.

  • Don’t worry about posing — I’ll do the hard work. Just be yourself.

Ready to make something a bit brilliant? If you’re after portraits with personality, warmth and a dash of Cornwall charm, I’ll make the process easy and unexpectedly fun. Drop me a message with what you’d like and we’ll get your session booked.
